The Roman goddess of fertility, victory, and love, the alluring Venus has inspired artists for centuries. Here sculptor Rick Casali presents Venus standing upon a pearl within an oyster shell. With her wet hair billowing in the breeze, the pose is triumphant, her eyes and body language seductive, all heightened by the delicate treatment of her youthful flesh and greenish patina. Very rarely does one see such elegance from a living sculptor.
